Summer Shows
Summer Shows.
I did my first show last year at the Lemonade Fair. This year I have signed up for a few larger shows as well and I am having a blast! I didn’t make it into all the shows I applied for and that’s ok. I’ll keep trying to get into some of them! It does feel pretty good when you get accepted into shows. I love to interact with people at shows. I like to see the joy it brings to people. Often, I am working alone in my studio for literally hours on end. I love to listen to music or more recently live stream on Tik Tok.
My lives are just me doing my day-to-day work. I don’t always have it on recording but I think that’s it’s fun for people to pop in and see what pottery is all about. I don’t know it all by any means but I’m having a lot of fun making. I’m also the type of person who likes to go to factories and see how things are put together/made. I think, hey maybe someone out there scrolling might just stop for a few mins and see what’s going on. It’s more fun to go live when you people interact with you but I’m also ok just doing my thing too.
Back to summer shows, it gives me a chance to interact with people who appreciate art 😊 It also gives me a chance to meet local people who follow me on social media. The atmosphere is always fun and it’s great to support other artists too. There are so many nice and kind people out there. I know that I’m not going to be everyone’s cup of tea but that’s ok!
There is a bit of work in getting ready for a show like inventory, prep for tables and then the event itself. Getting there early to set up and after the event carefully packing everything back up to travel home. Fairs can be long days but they don’t end up seeming that way because my husband comes with me and we really have a fun time together.
My next shows are Saint Cloud Art Crawl, Millstream, The Creamery and the Homestead Artisans LLC. I’m probably forgetting one but check my events for where I will be next!
