Gardening Day at St. Benedicts

What a fun event this was! The MN extension service put on a gardening day with speakers and breakout sessions. There were a few of us vendors, I think around 10. While people were in session, we had some down time. In between sessions people would shop. We were busy in those moments and that was great. I know that I always say this but I love seeing what people are drawn to. I like hearing the stories or what they tell you it reminds them of.  I love hitting the nostalgic feels. As usual the gnomes were a big hit. My mini cardinals/birds sold pretty quickly. All in all it was a great day and the sales were totally worth it. I was also approached by an artist that was selling, he has a shop in Nisswa called Quirks! It’s so cool because the store is all work from artists, I think most local. He liked a few of my items and asked if I wanted to sell it on consignment. So, I am excited about that. I’m going to run the numbers and make sure I’m making enough. It’s always hard because you are selling your piece for basically wholesale and the items I’m selling are all hand builds and those take time. Either way I’m flattered that he appreciated my work. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported me along the way. It was good to see a few friendly faces.

What am I up to next, a LOT. I have been applying for art shows. I should know about some of them by the end of the month. I am super excited to do the Art in the Gardens (Munsinger/Clemens) this summer. I’ll make sure to list it in my events page. Then hopefully Lemonade Fair (SCSU) and Powderhorn art fair (Minneapolis).  I know I will add a few others in there if I can. Ok, I have to get back to making or I’m not going to have anything to sell. Ok, Bye!
